About HV CheerleadingUpdatedFriday March 6, 2020 byLaurie Honeycutt.
Thank you for your interest in Hominy Valley Youth League Cheerleading!
Hominy Valley Cheerleading is a non-profit organization that teaches children the fundamentals of cheerleading and the importance of team work; all while fostering good sportsmanship. We are working on being more involved in our community and growing our existing participants with a true passion for cheerleading.
Our program has 3 groups of cheerleaders:
On average we have anywhere from 30-50 participants and again look to only grow this number.
While cheerleading is an expensive sport, we do offer several ways to help lower the cost for your child through payment plans, fundraisers (varies every season), and sponsorships (sponsorship forms can be found at the bottom of this page). The fee you pay to cheer includes your registration fee to the league as well as several items for your child’s uniform, such as a warm-up suit, pom-poms, game & competition bow, cheer shoes, and a few other basic necessities. Please follow our Facebook page to keep up to date on our cheer league fundraisers to help us continue to offer this.
Our cheerleading program typically holds signups between the end of March and first part of May each year, with a few summer dates for collecting payments and holding leauge fundraisers. Practices begin somewhere between mid-July, and first part of August, and games start shortly thereafter and fall every Saturday.
Our cheerleaders cheer for and support our local Hominy Valley's football teams, as well as prepare a competition routine for a multi-level competition typically held around the end of September. Our Cheerleaders practice at least 3 days a week throughout the season with games on Saturdays and competitions on Sundays . A schedule of games and events will be made available as soon as dates are confirmed each season by WNC Youth Football and Cheerleading Board.
Cheerleading is a sport just like any other sport under the HV umbrella. We expect hard work and determination - mixed with a good bit of fun - from each child and parent throughout the season.
Please review the Cheerleader Agreement (located below) to see what is expected of both the parent and the child. Please note that the agreement is subject to change with each season should the director feel it is needed. If you have any questions, you may reach me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or by cell at 828-712-8765.
